Role overview
We are looking for a passionate 3D Artist with a good technical mind-set and skill-level. The role requires someone with great skills in creating vehicle/mechanical hard surface models.
Responsibilities
- Create optimised game-ready assets for the Unreal game engine on PC and Console.
- Able to read and understand technical diagrams/blueprints for use as reference.
- Create optimal and detailed vehicle models with accurate scale and proportions, from these technical drawings and survey reference.
- Should be able to estimate the dimensions of key vehicle components when detailed scale drawings/references are unavailable.
- Work closely with the coding team to configure animations and animated components.
- Ability to create optimal UV layouts and textures, paying close attention to the detailing and weathering of your textures to capture a realistic representation of the vehicle.
- Monitor your timescales and tasks, highlighting any blockers/delays in your work.
- Assist with reviews and bug fixing of 3d assets.
What we are looking for
- Technical ability to research and understand the reference material to extract relevant data
- Proficient in at least one 3d modelling package such as 3DS Max, Blender or Maya (Blender Prefered)
- Competent in Substance Painter and Photoshop
- Knowledge of Unreal and PBR workflow
- Must be self-motivated, with good communication skills and able to effectively work as part of a team while based remotely at home.
