About Rivet Games Rivet Games aims to create the best add-on content for a range of simulation video games. One key team are tasked with creating add-ons for Dovetail Games’ Train Sim World products for PC and Console.
Location Remote Home Working (candidate must be based in the UK, we have all-staff company get-togethers every 6 weeks in central Scotland) NOTE: We are currently unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in t he UK.
Role overview: As a Junior Technical Designer you will work alongside a small and passionate team, utilising existing systems to create realistic and authentic simulations of rolling stock for Train Sim World. The successful candidate will display the fundamental key soft skills required to work with a variety of other members of the team as well as a strong foundation in core programming fundamentals.
Responsibilities:
- Research and understand the real world systems modelled within Train Sim World
- Utilise bespoke software to accurately recreate the behaviour of vehicles Provide technical support for console and PC
- Work closely with Art & Programming departments to deliver optimised and high quality content
- Act as the technical point of contact for key systems & gameplay features
What we are looking for:
- Passion and aptitude for simulation system development
- UE4 scripting / C++ experience is beneficial
- Proficiency in maths/3D algebra
- Proficiency with Unreal 4/5
- Familiarity with the limitations of console development (PS4/Xbox)
- Strong communication within a small team
- Interest in trains and real-world simulation
