In 2016, the SOB (Schweizerische Südostbahn) ordered six Flirt Traverso trains from Stadler Rail to replace their current rolling stock on the so called “Voralpenexpress”. In comparison to other trains from the Flirt family, the Traverso was developed as an intercity express train. Fully equipped with two bistro zones, comfortable seats and a modern design, these trains were an immediate hit.
